Athelingas is a word Tolkien borrowed from Old English. It means 'A group of sons and daughters of a great king or leader.'
Guidelines:
*Posts other than fiction or art are not appropriate. This is not an lotr-discussion community.
*Introductions will be deleted if entirely off-topic after a short period of time.
*Posts pimping other communities will be allowed or deleted at the whim of the moderator unless prior permission has been sought and granted.
fiction and art:
*Het and gen are acceptable; some slash content is preferred.
*RPS may not be posted, except in crossover. For RPS communities, visitfellow_shippers, lotrip_all_fic (RPF/art in slash, het or gen) or lotr_eclectic (LOTR RPF/art and FPF/art of all sorts).

RULES:
1. Please feel free to post just about any type of fiction or art here. Elves, hobbits, dwarves, men, orcs (!!)...whatever. Slash, gen or het, AU, canon, fanon, crackfics. WIPs are most welcome! Note: No sexually explicit images involving underaged characters, please!
2. All images (other than your userpic) and stories must be placed behind a cut. Your artwork is beautiful, but it slows things down for dial-up users and can gum up people's layouts. Sexually explicit images posted without a cut are subject to deletion without warning.
3. Because this is a community with many members with diverse tastes, you must specify your pairing(s) in the header for your fic.
4. Constructive criticism is allowed and encouraged, but flaming, insults and threats are not. Any such behavior, whether in a post here or one to which the instigator has linked our readers, will result in being banned.
5. Unmodified screencaps and other work that has been taken from other sources must not be posted here without the explicit permission of the copyright holders. Plagiarism (i.e. the lifting of substantial chunks of work from another source without due permission or credit) will result in being banned.
6. Please warn for these common triggers: Non-con, dub-con and character death.
